It’s Just a Boat. But it’s Not

t’s just a boat. But it’s not.

It’s been part of our lives for 17 years. It’s been the source of countless memories, stories and iPhone photos.

The reality is, it’s time for a bigger boat on these new, bigger waters.

The reality is, Savannah and I are both having a hard time imagining life without it.

Savannah was 10 days old when she was first aboard the ‘Snoloha’. She has grown up on that boat — Learning to sail, to swim, to dinghy cruise, to snorkel.

I have a hard time looking at these photos.

The reality is, my little banana is growing up.

The reality is, this isn’t about a boat. This is about life moving too fast.

I can only hope that whatever boat comes next, that it’ll serve our family like the Snoloha has.

The reality is, those days are dwindling. Harper is more like her momma…she could take it or leave it. And that’s OK. I can’t expect everyone to love sailing, that’s not fair.

The reality is, there’s more solo sailing ahead. But, I do love time on the water with just my thoughts and a little Buffett.

The reality is, it is a wonderful, amazing reality.

There’s something about a sailboat, and a daughter that shares the love.

“She’s growing up too fast for me, and asking lots of questions.

Some I know the answers to some I’m looking for suggestions.

Father, daughter

Down by the water

Shells sink, dreams float

Life’s good on our boat”
